Frederick Victor Richard Southwell was the son of Frederick Southwell by his marriage to Kate Isabella Lyon. He trained as a photographer in the early 1890s and by 1902 had his own studios in Battersea and Wandsworth, but never achieved the same level of acclaim as his father.
